Berbère is a 100% hand-crafted rug, entirely hand-knotted on traditional vertical looms in hand-spun wool and echoes the characteristics of early 20th century Berber-Moroccan carpets. Baxter Berbère carpet is the result of a long and particularly elaborate finishing process: in fact, after the first shave and the hand-wash, each rug is processed and treated by craftsmen to make it unique and different from all the others. This step is carried out by a specialised craftsman who scissors the entire surface, recreating the irregularity typical of handmade carpets.

Berbère is characterised by the selvedge on one side of the carpet, which is decorated with a woollen seam to match the design motif; and on the other side by the fringes that are meticulously woven one by one, as are all Berber carpets.
